Mission Statement
The Pepin County Treasurer’s Office is committed to serving the residents of our County and other units of government in the most courteous, efficient, and effective manner possible, and to maintain accurate records while upholding the fiduciary and statutory responsibilities required of the office.
Treasurer
The Pepin County Treasurer is a state constitutional officer, elected every four years by the voters of Pepin County. The duties of the County Treasurer are defined by Wisconsin State Statutes and rules and policies set by the County Board.
Duties include:
- Receiving and depositing all funds from all county departments, disburse monies to be paid out and keep accurate records of all transactions.
- Daily and monthly reconciliation of all county bank accounts.
- Maintaining and managing county investment accounts.
- Collect postponed and delinquent real estate tax payments.
- Prepare tax bills and tax rolls for all (11) eleven municipalities.
- Prepare tax settlement statements.
- Monthly and quarterly reports / payments to the state
- Tax Deed
- Maintains lottery credits.
- Unclaimed funds
Real Property Lister
The duties and responsibilities of the real property lister are identified in Wisconsin State Statue, section 70.09. Those duties include; maintaining accurate ownership and description information of parcels. Other functions include reconciling assessment information from assessors and coordinating the flow of assessment information between the County and taxation district for assessment and taxation purposes.
